Doula · Costa Tropical, Spain
Presence is the foundation of birth.
I'm Bea — an independent doula walking beside women and families through pregnancy, birth, and the first quiet weeks after. Based in La Herradura, at home wherever you are along the Costa Tropical.

Meet Bea
Simply Bea — a steady hand, and someone who has been there.
Trained as a pediatric nurse I worked for more then 20 years as general and geriatric nurse. I spent those years close to families in their most tender moments, and I learned early on that the small, calm gestures matter more than anything technical you can offer.
I trained in traditional midwifery practices at a doula school in Órgiva, high in the Alpujarras. What truly moved me toward this work, though, was being present at a friend's home birth. Watching her body find its own rhythm, held by trust and quiet company, confirmed everything my nursing years had taught me: real support begins with presence.
I'm a mother myself, and I speak German, English, Spanish and Romanian — so families feel met in the language closest to their heart. Here on the coast people know me simply as Bea.
Philosophy
What I believe about birth.
Birth is a natural process, not a medical condition.
Every woman already carries the wisdom she needs.
Trust is the ground on which every birth stands.
Presence, always. Never control.
"Presence is the foundation of birth."
How I walk with you
The Complete Birth Journey — one continuous companionship.
Not a menu of packages. One relationship, from the first conversation through the quiet weeks after your baby arrives.
- 01One
Pregnancy
Emotional support and unhurried conversation. Guidance on well-being and nutrition. Preparing for birth in a way that feels like yours — writing a birth plan together, coming with you to hospital visits when helpful, and holding space for partner bonding sessions. Our meetings grow closer together as your due date approaches.
- 02Two
Birth
From week thirty-six I'm on call, day and night. When labour begins I come to you — at home, at the hospital, wherever you choose to give birth. I stay beside you continuously, working alongside your midwives and medical team. If older siblings need a familiar presence, I can arrange care for them too.
- 03Three
Postpartum
Daily support during the first four days, then weekly visits until around day forty. Breastfeeding, holding, bathing, questions in the middle of the night. Some light cooking or a load of laundry so the house can breathe. Emotional support for you, your partner, and any older children finding their new place.
If your circumstances call for something different — postpartum support alone, for example — we can talk it through together. Care shapes itself around your family, not the other way round.
Beyond the everyday
Older, quieter practices, held with care.
Alongside the journey, there are practices I offer as small, sacred moments — for the body, for transition, for gathering.

Rebozo
Shaking the body back into balance.
Shiatsu
Soft, sustained pressure along the body's meridians to ease tension and restore quiet rhythm.
Reflexology
Attentive work on the feet to relieve heaviness, help sleep, and support the whole body's balance.
Mother Blessing
A small ceremony to gather your closest women around you before birth — words, thread, and intention.
Closing the Bones
A postpartum ritual of warmth, wrapping, and rest — a tender way of welcoming yourself home to your body.
Why families choose Bea
A grounded presence, a medical background, and time that isn't counted.
"There was never a moment I felt alone. Her calm changed the room."
"She listened first. Everything else came from that listening."
"One steady person, the whole way through. That's what we needed."
Calm, grounding presence
Truly seen and heard
Medical background paired with emotional care
One trusted companion, start to finish
Care shaped to you, never standardised
Non-judgmental, always
